What to Expect
Each day at Eden follows a gentle but intentional rhythm. Mornings open with coffee in the garden, followed by a Vinyasa yoga class on an ocean-view deck as the jungle wakes up around you. After a generous vegetarian breakfast buffet, the mid-morning hours are yours — for surfing, journaling, poolside recovery, or one of the retreat’s structured sessions. At 5 PM, a Yin yoga class shifts the pace toward stillness, and evenings close with a three-course gourmet dinner served family-style.
What separates this retreat from a standard yoga week is the depth of what’s woven in between:
- Private energy healing or breathwork session — a one-on-one session personalized to your own journey, led by an experienced practitioner
- Transformational breathwork class (SOMA method) — to release stored emotions and access deeper states of calm
- Cacao ceremony — a heart-opening ritual using locally produced ceremonial cacao, creating space for reflection and connection
- Temazcal (sweat lodge) ceremony — an ancient Central American purification ritual to cleanse body and spirit
- Ice bath sessions — guided cold-water immersion for physical recovery, mental resilience, and nervous system regulation
- Sound healing session — for deep restoration and nervous system reset
- Specialized workshop — focused on self-discovery and empowerment
- Your choice of a 1-hour massage or surf trip with an instructor at a nearby beach
- Beach and town trip — including a visit to the Jesus statue overlooking San Juan del Sur
For every booking made, Eden donates $5 USD to a local charity cause.

Who Is This Retreat For?
Eden on the Chocolata welcomes beginners through to advanced practitioners — the combination of Vinyasa and Yin means the yoga is accessible without feeling watered down. But the retreat’s real sweet spot is anyone who senses they’re ready for something more intentional than a holiday.
It’s a strong fit if you:
- Want a structured framework for personal growth, not just relaxation
- Are curious about breathwork, ceremony, or somatic healing but want them delivered in a safe, grounded context
- Are a solo traveller — the maximum group size of 15 and family-style dinners naturally build genuine connection
- Want real value: 78 verified reviews consistently praise the quality of food, programming, and accommodation relative to the price
- Are drawn to the eco-lodge experience — solar power, recycled materials, locally sourced food, and a hillside garden that feels worlds away from the nearest tourist strip
The retreat is led by two instructors who bring lived experience to their teaching. LaToya Maria Jones is an ayurvedic wellness coach, sound therapist, and somatic practitioner with over 15 years of experience in women’s health and mind-body education. Chrissy Patton is a yoga instructor, SOMA breathwork facilitator, and mindset coach who has used these same tools to transform her own life after overcoming depression.
